The Benefits of Membership

• Each month at our regular meeting, you will hear a guest speaker talk about  a particular plant or method of gardening and have an opportunity to mingle  with other gardeners who share your passion.

• As WHS members, you can enter our annual Flower and Garden Show held each August. You can read all about this Show on this web site. It is a great opportunity  to show off the results of your hard work and enjoy friendly competition as you compete for the most fragrant rose, the heaviest onion or the perfect dahlia.

• Members also enjoy bus tours to various gardens in the Maritime region and local tours of members gardens.

• You can pick up our monthly newsletter at the meetings which is filled with  wonderful articles on a vast array of gardening topics.

• We have potluck dinners throughout the year which are extremely popular with  members. These are followed by a fun evening of learning how to make a floral  arrangement or a beautiful Christmas wreath.

• You can participate in one of our special projects such as the Millennium Garden where you can join other Society members in planting and caring for this beautiful addition to downtown Moncton.

• Each spring we hold a Society plant auction where members bring in some of their prized plants and auction them off to other Society members with the proceeds going to support Society  projects. It is a great opportunity to pick up a new plant that you haven’t tried before or to expand your garden beds with some new additions.

• The Society also has a wonderful library of gardening books and videos that are available to members. The library is open each evening prior to the meeting (7:00  till 7:30 PM) and again over the refreshment break. Members can sign out books or videos, take them home  for a month to study, and return them at the following meeting.

So whether you have a single potted petunia or ten acres of them, there are lots of  reasons to join. Most of all, you will meet great people and make new friends who share  your interest in gardening.
